Does my phone need an LCD replacement

I have an LG X Power phone. During a fall I had, my phone harshly hit the phone on its left bottom corner. While at first it only had a cracked screen, the color on the phone faded a bit and minutes later the part of the left screen went black with red and green stripes running by the line.

My phone is unusable now as it opens apps at random unless it is shut off.

My mom's friend offered to fix the phone so long as I give them the parts. I was wondering if I need to fix the digitizer and lcd screen, (i'm not completely sure I know what that means)
