Trackpad ribbon cable compatible between 2015 and 2016 model?

Hi,

I replaced my Macbook 12"'s USB port which was not charging anymore... and in the process I snapped the Trackpad's ribbon cable ^^

Then did the replacement, and the trackpad and keyboard are getting power, power button works and the trackpad is clicky, but the mac doesnt get any input from them (no keypress & the trackpad is not moving). I assume that this cheap Chinese cable know off just doesnt work since the trackpad and keyboards where working find after the repair (before the part where I snapped it off right at the end :( ).

Anyway I'm trying to find a reliable source to buy a trackpad cable, this should do: MacBook 12" Retina (Early 2015) IPD Flex Cable

But its out of stock :(

So I'm wondering whether the 2016 ribbon cable would work in the 2016: MacBook 12" Retina (Early 2016-2017) IPD Flex Cable

They have different part numbers, but as far as I can tell from the picture they look similar enough that they might work. Does anyone know if there's a good chance that it'll work?

Its cheap enough that I would just buy to try it, but there's an additional $35 of shipping and that's a bit... of putting if I dont have a bit more than "I think it might work" to go on.
