TV will no longer turn on but still displays light

A bit of history on the TV's problem

It would turn on and work perfectly fine until one day it would just stop turning on.

The TV has a red light when turned off and when you turn it on then go blue and show display. Now the TV will always go blue light but never turn the display on. Every now and again if it was left for a couple of days the TV would turn on and work and ocasionally turn off and on without issues but one day it just stopped turning on but still displays the blue light to signal is on.

All I know about the TV is that it's a Baird 40' LED FVIEW HD TV

The display panel its self is clearly not damaged so my guess is whatever board in the TV that controls the TV to turn on is broken, or possibly loose wire?

I have been fixing phones/tablets etc for 7 years but have no experience in TV's whatosver

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

David F any better idea about a model number. I believe that Baird is a rebranded Philips as well as other Chinese manufacturers. I suggest you take the back of your set off and take a few images of the boards. Post those with your question. Use this guide Aggiungere immagini ad una domanda for that. It will allow us to see what you see.

Your problem sounds like a power supply issue. It is very common that manufacturers use low temperature rated capacitors on the power supply, and over time, the capacitors get too hot, fail and begin to leak. Your problem sounds like a leaky capacitor on the main power supply.

You will need to know how to solder to repair your tv. Please take proper precautions when working on your tv. Capacitors can store charge long after the device is removed from power. Working on live electronics can kill you. Make sure you discharge the components before working on them.
