Shift Key Stuck probable hardware issue, button not pressing right
So my shift key randomly started acting up, wouldn't allow me to enter my password bc in all caps, booting in safe mode, etc. I did all the software attempts to fix before I decided to just remove the key and see if something was stuck under there or if there was some liquid damage (even tho i haven't spilled anything on it that i know of). After removing the left shift key I found that the problem was fixed and the shift key was no longer being pressed but as soon as I put the key back on it goes back to being permanently pressed. Could this just be the key cover not sitting right on the actual key mechanism? I just had my entire display, keyboard, and topcase replaced a couple months ago so maybe they installed the key incorrectly or something? Anybody know what could be causing this? I'd really like to avoid remapping my keyboard and definitely trying to avoid spending another $300 for a new topcase after I just spent $900 basically repairing my entire macbook. Thanks in advance!
Update (06/22/2017)
So now the key is just acting strangely. Sometimes it works like normal, sometimes it gets stuck, and sometimes is just doesn't work at all.
