Weird Ghosting on screen after DIY screen replacement

Hi, Im fixing a phone for a friend of mine, His phone is a HTC ONE M8s, I replaced the screen on the phone about a month ago, i though that all went well, I didnt realise there was a problem until I started actually using the phone, screen turns on fine, but I'm getting the ghosting on the bottom third of the phone, This is a video of the problem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8lcsQUJ...

I got in contact with the ebay seller and he sent out a new screen which im just getting around to installing now, I have the same problem, Is this again the screen? Or would I have messed something else up in the phone?

Please help i'm having a bit of a heart attack atm tbh.

I'm thinking of lack of EMI shielding (Kapton tape / brown tape) on the LCD cable itself. If you look at the original old damaged screen you see there's like black tape on the small components on the LCD cable which they should be shielded. I sometimes use masking tape or scotch (sticky) tape to make sure the ribbon cables are fully inside the ZIF connects and also to make sure they don't move out of place.

Are you getting the screens as a LCD assembly only? Or does it come pre assembled with the frame?

My guess is the screen is being flexed due to bent back housing causing touch screen to have issues, a faulty screen worst case scenario or like said above.

I just ordered kaptop tape, do you think this will fix it?

I'm currently testing the new screen out of the housing so it wouldn't be shorting on the anything would it?

It's worth a try, as you know most of the phone's frame is mostly metal under the screen and the back cover of the phone.

Correct. When the screen is not installed / lifting up / out of housing there should be no EMI interference causing ghost touching from any metal surfaces (such as the screen frame itself).
