What cable could cause the PXE-E61 Media Test failure?

When I boot my Adamo, it won't find my operating system. It boots and then gives the PXE-E61 error. Could the SSD connector cable be defective?

Frank try this, in the Bios, just change the boot sequence so the pxe-61 isn't called for in the boot sequence. Think the cable is the Lan cable. Also removed an access plate on the bottom (numbered 4) and make sure the hard drive is seated properly. Apply some pressure on the the left front corner. Apparently there are some issues with a loose chip on that side just below the windows button. Either apply direct down pressure or trying lifting the unit from this corner and powering on. If that does it you know at least that you may have to have somebody reflow the board for you. More info here http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Solve-PXE... Good Luck and let us know how it is going.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This totally worked for me, and I do no even know anything about computers. How, who, where do I get someone to "reflow my board"? What does it mean that there is a loose chip on that side?

erickalezcano, you are welcome. It means that one of the IC or microchip has come loose on your motherboard. That can happen due to manufacturing issues, (poor soldering) bad solder etc. When somebody reflows the board, the solder that holds the IC (chip) on the board and makes connection is liquified and when it cools down, makes the proper connection again. This is a very simplified version, and I know that some people may give me a hard time with this :-) So in order to find someone to reflow your board will depend on your geographical location. I am also not sure how much the charge for that service would be. Sometimes it could be cheaper to purchase a new board.

I DID JUST THAT...OPENED MY DELL LAPTOP FROM BEHIND? AND I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THAT THE HARD DISK IS REALLY OUT OF PLACE, IT'S KINDA LOOSELY ATTACHED & PULLED-OUT FROM THE SOCKET.:-0 WOW! SO I JUST SIMPLY PUSHED IT BACK IN PLACE & IT'S DONE and WORKING FINE NOW!!! THANKS A LOT FOR THAT ADVICE BROTHER! AND THANKS A LOT TO THIS FORUM!!!:-)

This also fixed my problem!!! I had removed & replaced the HDD several times. It felt like it was plugged in correctly, but wasn't. I removed the bottom cover, re-inserted the HDD and could see where the connector was sliding below the socket instead of into it. I plugged it directly into the socket, and it works perfectly.

also it has a case molding flaw, an edge that should not have been there (you can cut it, see on youtube), that presses the flatcable and breaks a few wires in it. dell occasionally admits the flaw, but of course with a lot of arguing. good luck.

ok, so my story is, that I'm installing an SSD instead of HDD into my Dell Inspiron n5110 and I have checked all the connections twice, set up the boot order, get the default settings in BIOS, but I still get the PXE-E61 error.... Even tried buying a CD-ROM adapter and getting an SSD to work from the ODD SATA connection, it kind of worked, but booting was still an issue, it gave me a different error: "Cant boot windows, recent hardware change might be the cause."

It really seems that this laptop towards this SSD is like a vegetarian towards meat...

I really need help, give any advice.

If you have two hard drives: change the boot sequence of the two drives in BIOS. For no reason sometimes the bios is confused and change the sequence. So you have to chnage it back
