What is this noise?
Can anyone provide an experienced guess as to what could be making this sqealing, squeaking noise? Rheem "cube unit" AC/Heat Pump combo.

S. N. , That sounds like a bad/dry bearing in the motor/fan. If motor still seems good and strong you can replace the bearing or possibly lubricate bearings. Links below may help. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

S. N. like @lpfaff1 mentioned it does sound like a bad fan bearing. Put your hand on the fan motor and see if you can feel the vibration and if it changes the pitch of the noise. Those fan motors have a small oil hole and should get lubricated every so often, but we as homeowners do forget those things from time to time.
If you find it is not the fan motor you will have to take the cover of your unit and investigate further. If you give us the complete model number, I am certain we have the manual for it somewhere.
