Can I install leopard on my PowerBook G4 A1095

I have a powerbook g4 1.5GHz 15in. I was told at an Electronic store that I can't install leopard, I'm stuck with Tiger. Is that true?

No--You can install Leopard (10.5.8) but not Snow Leopard. (10.6.4) I would recommend maxing my memory first as Leopard requires more than Tiger. For your computer that would be 2 GB and you might consider a larger/faster hard drive as well. Link provided to identify your computer and then select the install guide needed. Good luck--Ralph

Thanks! I actually did max out the memory. I have a 80gb hard drive and 60gb free, so hopefully it should be enough for it to run smooth. Again I appreciate it, I had a feeling this guy didn't know much about macs ..lol

Unless you intend to upgrade your applications, you should also do a Google search to determine the compatibility of Leopard w/ older software. Keywords = Powerbook G4, Compatibility with OSX Leopard.

A lot of common 'vintage' software won't work w/ Leopard.

why you don't can install leopard in that pc? My pc have 1,5GHz and have mac os x leopard, and it's great!

You only need mac pc or intel processor, 1gb memory, 5gb free space hard drive, dvd.

As anecdotal evidence, I have run a 1 GHz PowerBook G4 with OS 10.5 Leopard. However, it was somewhat slow (not too bad, just noticeably laggy at times). This computer had 1 GB of RAM and a 60 GB HD, most of which was empty. I think Leopard "requires" 1 GB, but 2 GB would be nice if you can get it.
