@adams10 ,Ty Adams , You did not state engine gas or diesel! Water in fuel/bad ignition parts ignition module/cap/rotor/wires/plugs, EGR clogged, vacuum leaks(spray starter fluid around intake gaskets, vacuum lines, carb. base or throttle body/injectors, and observe a change in how motor rev's to locate leak, clogged exhaust(catalytic converter), dirty fuel filter/carb./throttle body/injectors , weak pump, air in fuel lines from leak, various faulty sensors, torque converter lock up malfunction, etc.,etc.,etc.,
I am pretty sure your truck is OBD1, below is a link that will tell you how to retrieve error/trouble codes to aid in diagnosing. Some of the auto parts suppliers offer free code reading like Pepboys, Nappa, Advanced auto parts, etc and some of the guys are very knowledgeable and may have seen the issue often and put you on the right track. If not wanting to work on or diagnose your vehicle have a good local shop have a look, diagnose and estimate repair. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
