screen fades after being turned on
the garmin turns on fine, then after a minute or so, the screen fades out to white, and is non-functional.
any thoughts??

You may want to try checking this website out (see link). It has several "hidden" options for diagnosing many areas of the Nuvi line. Also, when was the last time you updated the base system?
