1066 vs. 1600 - Which one can I use?

I've currently got 4GB and would like to upgrade to 8GB.

1066 mhz 2x 4GB

or

1600 mhz 2x 4GB

Is my MacBook comptabile with the 1600 and is this the best/fastest option?

Here's Apple's upgrade page: MacBook Pro: How to remove or install memory

As you can see Apple states: PC3-12800 DDR3 1600 MHz as what the system needs. It will also support 1600 MHz RAM but it won't offer much improvement.

If you want performance you'll want to look at upgrading the HD to a SSHD or better yet a SSD.

Thanks for the feedback, I think a start will be the RAM.

My MacBook I mid 2010 I think it can only take 1066 MHz?

Please correct me if I'm wrong!
