MacBook Pro 2011 - identify missing MB resistors

I have this machine:

MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.3 13" Early 2011 2.3 GHz Core i5 (I5-2415M)

Intro. February 24, 2011 Disc. October 24, 2011

Order MC700LL/A Model A1278 (EMC 2419*)

Family Early 2011 13" ID MacBookPro8,1

The motherboard is 820-2936-A.

Just bought it.

PROBLEM: It's got a few resistors missing close to the LCD connector on the MB.

Laptop works fine on output monitor, but because of those resistors, the LCD's got full white with lines etc.

I NEED HELP TO IDENTIFY THOSE RESISTORS, please!!

Are they common, like you can get if from other non- macbook laptops?

That LCD connector looks pretty dented as well, honestly I think replacing the connector is easier that replacing the components, the connector has more legs and is easier to solder.

@gigabit87898 yes it does, but @murtdoc will still need the components to get it working properly. My big question is why they were removed.

da

they weren't removed intentionally, as I understand from the previous owner, there was an incident happen in a street corner repairing shop with a tool that slipped :))) In any case, the laptop works fine on external, so I bought it and I am confident I can fix it. Lucky I have you guys!

Thank you @oldturkey03 @gigabit87898

Ps. I hope won't be neccesary to change that LCD connector, as I see there is not serious demage to it, just scrached.

@murtdoc this is to identify your components not to diagnose why they were removed:

Block Image

reference designator C9020 is a 0.001UF 50V 10% capacitor in a 0402 package

reference designator C9796 is a 220PF 50V 10% capacitor in a 0402 package

reference designator C9011 is a 0.1UF 16V 10% capacitor in a 0402 package

reference designator C9012 is a 10UF 6.3V 20% capacitor in a 0603 package

reference designator R9008 and R9009 are 2.2KOhm 1/16W 5% resistors in a 0402 package

These are common components and should be widely available to you. Yes you can harvest those from other equipment for as long as you know they are the right components. They are inexpensive so there really is no reason for doing that.

Thank you very much, @oldturkey03

You said are widely available ... do you have a special website where I could get them from? I was googleing it to buy but can't find.

da

Is it important too much the Capacitance Tolerance ?

da

@murtdoc use digikey.com or mouser.com

da

@murtdoc as for where to get the parts, that will depend on where you are. As @gigabit87898 mentioned,I get my parts from Mouser or Digikey. Costly for shipping but great service. The capacitance can be over by never under (More is okay, less is not) same for the voltage. The resistors need to be as specified.

@oldturkey03 @gigabit87898 Thank you!

I found all of them, except these:

reference designator R9008 and R9009 are 2.2KOhm 1/16W 5% resistors in a 0402 package

Can't find it anywhere.
