Drain pump access on LG D1454TF?

I have an LG D1454TF and it is giving the OE error code and doesn't drain. I can hear the pump is starting up but it seems slower than normal, possibly something stuck in it slowing it down. What's the easiest way to access the drain pump to inspect it? The maintenance manual is here https://www.manualslib.com/manual/106987... Thanks in advance for any help offered :)

Bob Ind , Normally you would shut off power and water to it, unscrew the tip over/mounting screws above the dish washer going into counter top frame remove bottom kick panel to access wiring or plug in(disconnect) and water supply line(remove). Pull dish washer from cavity and turn on its back to access pump to check for clog. Reverse order to install. Good luck.

Bob Ind I am a bit confused by that. You do have the service manual and all you would have to do is to follow page 32 for the disassembly of the dump assembly. With that removed you have access to the pump etc. After that go back to page 29 to disassemble and assess.

Unfortunately it is not an integrated dishwasher so requires some disassembly before you can access the pump.

Water wont pump out of dishwasher.

Easy fix

Its so easy to access drain pump and remove blockage.

Turn dishwasher on its side.

Take an angle grinder with thin cutting blade and carefully make a 200mm square cut (like a doorway) square through the sealed plastic base. Cut over in the far diagonal corner from where the drain hose goes into machine.

This will cause no damage to machine.

You will now have access to the drain pump.

Loose 3 phillips screw on pump body and you will most likely find something jammed in pump.

Replace pump body.Problem solved.

This saves the total dismantling of the machine just to get to drain pump.

LG wont like this but its a 10 min fix!!

I was at the point of cutting that bottom plastic plate but managed to access and remove the drain pump easily by removing the side panel on the right-hand (on/off switch side) of the machine. Lift the soundproof material and the drain pump sits right there. One of the three screws was a little bit awkward and required a slightly shorter screwdriver but came out easily with little effort. Mine was just blocked, so it was an easy, free 10 minute repair.
