MacBook Pro Won't turn on after dual disk install

Hello everybody!

I replaced the optic drive on my MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2009 by an SSD drive.

This is not the first time and I do this kind of hack, but this time, the mac won't turn ON anymore.

I tried all the possible combinations, unplugged the battery, put back the original optical drive... No changes :(

Any clue please?

Thank you for your time!

NM

Can you give us a bit more here...

When you hit the power button do you hear the fans as well as the startup Bong? What does the MagSafe adapter LED show you and what does the battery test LED's show?

What happens when you disconnect the battery, RAM, both drives and then power up just on the MagSafe adapter any difference?

Hi

Thanks Dan for your answer!

Nothing happens when I hit the power button, no sound, no fan spinning.

When I plug the MagSafe, the led turns to a light green (very weak glow) even when the battery is disconnected.

I tried the same steps with 3 different working MagSafe adapters, with no success :(

Not good ;-{

Is the battery tester LED's lighting at all? If not the battery is dead and needs to be recharged. I would double check the MagSafe connector on the system (give it a clean and inspect it for any damage).

The dim MagSafe LED is telling me the charging logic on the logic board has problems. Did you snag one of the small SMT devices? Did you use proper ESD protection when working on the system? Remember its winter! So static is a big issue now. Otherwise, you'll need to get a schematic to trace out the charging logic or replace the logic board - Ouch!

I'm always cautious and I don't think I removed any small devices. I pull the cables gently, and making the operation in the same space, and no problem at all...

But I agree with you Dan, I'm suspecting the charging logic as well.

I'll try to remove the battery and mount it in another mac (same model) to charge it and put it back.
