Hey folks, is this a capacitor? Is it damaged?

Lcd connector on display board is burned on the right side; about 3 pins are damaged.

On the Mobo this Capacitor(?) near connector looks weird...Could it damage a new screen when connecting the same way the old screen connector on display board is damaged?

maikhuebeler post an image of your complete board with your question. You also want to let us know exactly what model your MBP is. The "A" number is not going to be enough. You will have to be very specific. Your board is most likely (going by my schematic) a 820-3332

No, looks like a ferrite bead. Let us know the board number (should be bottom left on logic board somewhere) and I can let you know the value.

Don't plug a new screen into the damaged LCD connector, this will burn the LCD cable. Replace the LCD connector and the ferrite bead, then try a new screen.

The board number you have supplied is for the side board (with SD card reader on it), not the main board. There will be a number like this on the main board. Once you find this, Google "*your board number* schematics" and download the board view and schematic. This will allow you to click the component on the board view and find out the value in the schematic.

You will definitely need to replace the LCD connector too, looking at the picture. Don't plug anything in there until this is replaced.

maikhuebeler @reecee is absolutely correct. The part you are referring to is reference designator L9000 which is a 220 Ohm Ferrite Bead in a 0805 package. Something like these should work for your board.
