Controller won't connect in safe mode
Changed hard drives in the PS4 from the 500gb to a 2tb drive, have to boot to safe mode to install the " PS4UPDATE.PUP " from my flash drive and it won't accept any controllers when I connect them...
I switched the drives back and the controller worked fine when running the console but when I booted safe mode on the 500gb drive it still wouldn't accept my controller, it charges from the console but won't connect, the light just flashes white when I press the PS button, could this be faulty hard ware in the console? (Ive tried every micro usb cables on multiple different controllers, with an unpaired controller it wouldn't even attempt to sync, the controller flashed blue till it stopped looking for a console)

Op here, this was years ago on the ps4 before the ps5 was a thing, sorry to hear that its happening on the ps5
as for the ps4 my buddy had a clear DS4 controller that he used to game on his PC, unclear if its Sony DS4 or an aftermarket controller, but it talked to the console while the Sony ones I had didn't work. id just keep trying controllers and cables until something works
