What components need to be exchanged and where are they located?

Hey there!

I have two iPhone 5s motherboards. One has an unknown carrier from another country and is only 16 GB. The other one is unlocked with 64 GB but has components knocked of the board. what ic chips do I have to transfer from the broken one to the working one with unknown carrier to end up with a fully working, unlocked and 64 Gb storage motherboard? where are they located? please be as specific as you can, thank you!!

Assuming the 64GB board is functional minus the missing chips, that is the board I would focus on to repair. Take the parts you need from the 16GB board and move them over. The TouchID is paired to the CPU so whatever board you focus on you have to insure that those two are together. I would also move the NAND and Baseband IC. So unless you have a functioning CPU/NAND/Baseband/TouchID, then this project will not work out for you.

You are asking for a lot of explicit details on a very difficult repair. I would say if you already have the skills and tools to move micro-bga chips, then surely you have the knowledge to know where to find schematics and board view files for the IP5S and you don't need us to do the work for you.

If you have never done micro-soldering/BGA work, then I would advise you to stop now before you destroy the logic boards even further.

EDIT (just saw Tom's reply but I had already typed this and didn't want to delete it)

If @tomchai tells you it's a waste of time, then truly, it's a waste of time.

Thank you for telling me what I asked for, for some reason that seems so hard to get about these type of topics. I do have touch id and the other chips. what I was talking about was things like coils capacitors. the damage is so bad that I can't use the 16 gb motherboard for parts and that's why i want to swap the necessary components from the 64 gb board to the 16 gb board.

Thank you.

Basically every significant chip and just replacing chips won't work. You also need to reprogram the main flash memory, which can only be done via special tools. The tools can cost you a suitcase of iphones.

Also the carrier lock always stays with the baseband chip, you cannot escape it.

So this is pointless.
