My TV clicked loudly; no longer turns on

I turned on my Panasonic Plasma TV model TC-P55VT30 television today with the remote (I don't think this model has a physical power button on the TV). After a few seconds, I heard a click from the TV and the screen was off. My PlayStation and other devices are getting power from the same outlet so it's not power.

I've heard about red light codes etc for these TVs and though I'd never noticed one before, there is definitely no light blinking now. The TV is completely unresponsive. Help? Is there anything I can do?

@thebrine unplug the unit and remove the back. Then visually check your boards for any obvious damage like bulging or leaking capacitors, charred components etc. Post some images of what you see with your question. For that us this guide. This will allow us to see what you see. You will need a multimeter to check a few things on your boards. start off with something like the flowchart for your model

and there are a couple of fuses immediately visible on the power board

A lot of the panel TVs (LED or plasma) have a motherboard/daughterboard that goes bad and leaves the unit unresponsive. I've had it happen to one TV and there are many others out there who experience the same thing. Thankfully the fix is usually easy and not too costly. You can look up your model and find the parts from a retailer and replace yourself (there are lots of How-To's dedicated to this on Youtube). You may want to open it up and look around for any burnt capacitors and locate exactly where the problem is as it could be something as simple as just soldering a new one in place which would be super cheap.

If there is a problem with where the power comes in then be careful with it. Make sure it is unplugged before working on it and make sure any repairs to that area are clean and nothing is bridged that could cause a short.
