will not print black ink
my printer will not print in black I have tried a new cartridge and still wont print. Any ideas....

For those who are still having the same Epson printer issue.
Quick question. Are you sure it's a printer fault?
Well, there are a couple of reason your printer is not printing black like
1. It is printing in rich black.
2. Issue in the printer head
3. Outdated driver
4. paper related issue

These troubleshooting steps are for Windows 10 users who are facing problems with the HP printer that is printing blank pages.
- Turn Off your HP Printer by unplugging the power cable from the back of it.
- Uninstall the HP Printer drivers from the Control Panel of the computer.
- Delete the HP Printer from the Devices and Printers list.
- Turn On the HP Printer.
- Reset the Wireless Connection by holding the Wireless Button on the printer.
- To make sure Wireless Connection is Reset (Wireless Light will start blinking)
- Resetting the Wireless connection will update your Printer Firmware.
- Now Connect your HP Printer to the home network again.
- Open HP Smart App on Windows 10 computer.
- Click on Setup a new Printer.
- Follow the instruction on the HP Smart to set up the HP Printer.
- Once it’s completed, the computer will be updated with the latest HP drivers.
- Now print any document from the computer and it will start printing in color and black.
- Printing blank pages problem in HP Printer will be fixed completely after this troubleshooting.

I used baking soda for my printer and diet coke to get her back on line. Be mindful to cover generously in and out of the unit. Be sure to do it in the dark no lights on. Wear a good pair of safety slippers with heels. Parting your hair in the middle is optional.
(Note). Add Diet Coke super fast after a super heavy dusting of baking soda. Dig your slippers heels in. And go get her.

My printer black ink was so clogged no black was printing at all. Reason was printer sat for 7 months without use. colors worked but black did not. Cleaning print head several times but still no black. .I thought as a last resort before buying a new printer i would try something else. I put the printer in change cartridge mode, removed the new black cartage, put a soda straw over the cartridge nozzle in the printer, took the head of the pressure tank hose and blew about a hundred pounds pressure through the straw and print nozzle , I could tell when the nozzle cleared, It now prints black ink.

Does anyone have a software hack to make Epson Artisan 837 print only black and white? That is, without using colours under the black. I have only printed black and white, and don’t want to keep buying the colours. I only want fax capability.
