iPhone 6 "Black"screen after LCD Replacement

Hello,

I've recently replaced the case of my iPhone 6 and everything worked fine, except the home button. Touch ID was working, but clicking the home button wasn't.

As I thought that taking out the LCD and putting it back in would fix the problem, I tried this.

After replacing the LCD and testing all connectors if they're "tightened", the "black" screen appeared.

I looked up if it could be the "long screw damage" and it really seems that I accidentally changed the 1.7mm screw with the 1.2mm screw.

But, if I'm turning my iPhone on, the LCD still lights up, you can see this perfectly when the whole room is dark. There are a few colored pixels, which I can see when its on full brightness.

Vibration, Speakers and Light Sensor (Thats how I change the brightness) are still working.

I can't get into iTunes, because there is no way to enter my Pass Code, but it gets identified as soon as I plug it in.

Does anyone here has an answer to what my problem is?

Or maybe even a solution.

Thanks!

PS: Sorry for my "bad" english, if there is anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me.

Btw. I can't get into the recovery mode, because the home button still doesn't work.

Hi,

Sounds like either a cabling problem, or a logic board problem. If it's a cabling problem (probably from the LCD cable) you would need to purchase a new screen assembly. If it's a logic board problem, then it can be quite pricey to get a new logic board, or a new iPhone.

Hope this helps

Have you tried a new screen or your old one to make sure it's not a faulty or damaged lcd? I would try that first. If that doesn't work you mightve knocked loose a filter near the lcd connector on your motherboard.

LCD works perfectly on another iPhone, so it must be something with the logic board...

Do you or know someone with a microscope to take a quick look near the connectors? Also was the battery disconnected prior to removing and reinstalling the new screen?

It seems that the back light of the phone isn't functioning. Try to put the old screen on and see if you get any light out of it. it's possible to short out the backlight circuit when replacing the screen, but hopefully it's just a bad screen. Make sure that the connections are clean and there is no damage to the pins on the board and the screen.
