computer power up but no display just a blank screen
My Compaq presario F700 15' powers up but there is no display, just blank screen. Please help

Hook it up to an external monitor to test the video GPU. If it works on an external then the problem is with the LCD or display data cable or inverter. Start up from your system insatllation disk to test the hard drive.

There are 3 possible solutions to solve this issue. the first was already told from the prevous answer.The 2nd is take out the battery, unplug the power cord and then hold down the power button for 60 sec. This discharges all neg powers to the monitor. The last way is make sure you have good ram. if its not pluged in all the way or just went bad, that will cause the laptop to power up but no display. Hi, here it is 2016 and I was wondering if you ever got a fix for the black screen.loop or did you just buy another laptop. I aquired an F700 and the very same thing is happening to mine!!!

i have a compaq presario and believe me i have facing the same problem every 6 months like many other people.
i checked many forums and found out that there is some manufacturing defect with the nvidia graphic card chip.
Many people saying it needs to be reflow , i.e solder is broken bcz of overheating over prolonged period of time.
i am spending some 70$ every 6 months to get it repaired by professional although i never seen with my own eyes what exactly he do.
