MMS message's not sending or downloading

My phone, Alcatel One Touch Idol 3, will not receive or send MMS messages. It will just continue to say downloading until it times out. Is this a simple setting that needs corrected?

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

I had the same problem and T Mobile told me to do the following. It worked for me. What you have to do is turn on the DATA in your phone when you want to receive the message (even if you don't pay for data on your phone). Click on SETTINGS->MORE or Scroll to Mobile Networks (or just Networks) -> turn on DATA CONNECTION. You might need to turn on DATA ROAMING as well (same location). Watch out, once you turn on these settings your battery will drain like crazy. I only turn on the settings so I can download the image or whatever, and then turn them off. Also, make sure you are using the MESSENGER app that comes with the phone, and not an app you downloaded from somewhere else. HTH.

so one solution to this issue is to reset the network. in this case you need to go to netwrok under settings hit mobile network. then the option of access point then it should only show one. what you desire to do imn this situation is refresh it by clicking the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the screen. The option of reset to default should pop up. hit and refresh. this should help reset the network and allow multimedia messages to download.

MMS requires a data connection. MMS is NOT INCLUDED in unlimited talk and text plans, and will cost you overage if youre not paying for data. Make sure cellular data is on, and your APNs are up to date.

A quick google search of your Carrier APN Setting should give you what you need to access mobile data.

no this is not true with att.. it was with sprint which was horrible but this was years ago.. i cant imagine any company today that will charge you for a picture text

im in Canada, and our picture messages and group messages will not send if mobile data is off, on any carrier, as the images need to send via the LTE/2g/3g/etc network.
