2013 MBA 13" logicboard fit a 2012 MBA 13"

I have a 2012 MacBook Air 13" which I had spilled water all over it.

After removing battery and drying out for a week I put it back together. When I attach the charger the light goes from green to orange. I pulled the SSD attached it to a USB adapter it works fine.

I did my best to find any corrosion (very faint in affected areas) and used the alcohol method to get rid of it.

When I finally powered on the device nothing happened except I receive 3 beeps which continue until the charger/battery are disconnected. This happens every time I have tried powering it up.

I looked up POST beeps and it seems to me like the RAM is fried and I need a new logic board.

My question is this:

The 2013 and 2012 model are so similar could I buy a 2013 logic board and install it into my 2012 MBA?

I've searched the net and come up with nothing, except that the 2013 MBA WiFi card can be used on the 2012 MBA.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I have misdiagnosed. Thank you.

Sadly, the amount of parts & work needed to convert your system would be more expensive than buying a used unit.

So why is this not practical?

First lets review the IFIXIT Teardowns:

Here we can see the logic boards are very similar in size and shape. But the connectors are not quite laid-out the same way. Also we can see the SSD connector is not the same as well. So you would need to replace the display & SSD which are the two most expensive parts.

Here is the IFIXIT guide to replace your systems logic board: MacBook Air 13" Mid 2012 Logic Board Replacement and the new MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2012) 1.8 GHz Logic Board - Apple P/N 661-6631 (or for the 2.0 GHz board Apple P/N 661-6632) you'll need which I think is the cheaper way out here. Sorry for the bad luck ;-{
