Who's the most reliable vendor for LCDs/ parts

A really good friend of mine manufactures iPhone LCDs Here in the states, but the first time I ordered from him the screens didn't arrive for 3 weeks costing me a loss of a couple customers.

My manufacturers parts are very good but I feel he is overcharging me for certain LCDs such as the 6s which is $69.99 when I looked on eBay and saw multiple for only $35 or $40.

Who's a good vender/ manufacturer I can order from for a reasonable price? I'm open to new less well know manufacturers also. I just want the most bang for my buck

$70 for a 6S screen is cheap. Too cheap. So if you're aiming for $40 it means you're aiming for trouble. Unless you meant 5s?

Screens are made of LCDs, digitizers, flat cables, and a frame. And a few other components.

The type of parts used, and how they are assembled and finished all contribute to how stable the screen is going to be.

Just to name a few: bad screens will often lift from the frame, break all too easily, hang all too often, start with or develop yellowish spots, have bleeding LCDs, etc.

I find it more economical to install a good quality screen assembly, charge a premium, and warranty it knowing it will likely not come back, than install a bad quality part, charge cheap and make less money, not warranty it (or do but cost you a lot of money) and end up with bad reviews and a bad reputation.

Your choice.

The german have a nice saying. They often say they're not rich enough to afford cheap products. If you're starting up, you should basically think like a german.

Thus learn to audit the screens you are purchasing, and request the best possible quality. iFixit have some of the best parts out there, but you need a "Pro" account to get a professional's discount. And they stand behind their parts with a lifetime warranty on most parts I think.

There are other good quality / honest sellers out there. But often finding and keeping a cheaper supplier end up costing more because of the poor quality parts you'll have to eat until you find someone good. And then that suppliers may flip on you not because they are not honest, but because they also have little control themselves. iFixit are known to stand behind their product in case such an issue occurs.

Good luck with your hunt, or good luck finding a new business endeavour if you decide to stick with cheap parts.

yea that makes a lot of sense. My problem is i ordered parts from a good friend and it took 3 weeks for the parts to arrive. By this time, ive lost most of the customers to their service provider. also, people are out here fixing ip6s screens for $60 when i can't do that. I'm not sure what kind of screens those are but 60 is dirt cheap.

You could go the refurbishing route. Find someone reliable to recycle and refurbish your screens. However it is also NOT straightforward but you pay less for good quality of you find a good local refurbisher.

Have you tried iFixit's parts store? All their parts come with a lifetime warranty and are checked, i'd say that's pretty reliable.

@doomagedan their parts are reliable, yes, but most certainly not cost efficient when it comes to a beginning repair business

eTradeSupply perhaps? I think it's a hit or miss when you try out screen suppliers. Look for one that is noticeable good quality, good price and will replace your screens under warranty defects.

ifixit pro are cheatting nasty thieves , we sent a test shipment of totlly working screens they offered to buy back, those screens were tested two times before shipment, the only defect was broken glass but fully working digitizer and lcd with no defects.

a couple of weeks later they sent a report saying most of the screens were not working and with a lot of defects , from broken cables to pink backlight and pixel defects. also this report showed screens we did not even sent ! .

when we pointed that they just changed the amount of screens and even lowered the money they pretended to pay for a "few defective " screens ...

unbelievable, stay away from this idiots , they will say all the screens are bad to pay you only a few bucks for them

I'm sorry to hear that you had a back experience with our Buyback program. As is the case with every buyback we process, we generate a report that indicates our evaluation of the condition of your screens, and what your estimated payout will be based on our evaluation. If you disagree with that evaluation, you can decline to proceed with the Buyback and we will ship the screens back to you.

I understand that you may have had a bad experience and are frustrated by that experience. We try our best to serve every customer quickly and to operate with the highest standard of integrity. I certainly wouldn't classify myself, or anyone on our team, as a "cheating, nasty thief". If you'd like to discuss this further on the phone, or via email, I'd be happy to address your concerns. You can call iFixit Pro at 805-540-6339 or email me at pro@ifixit.com.
