S5 dropped on tile floor, there was a little water on the floor. The screen didnot shatter or cracked. The phone turns on normally , it gives sound , works fine but the screen is blank.
Is there anyway i can know I need to change the LCD and touchscreen digitizer?
Or would there be any fault with the cable ribbon?

The front display assembly uses strong adhesive to stick to the front display frame of the phone. There wont be any fault with the front display ribbon cables as the chances of these becoming unplugged are extremely unlikely and would basically only happen when the phone has opened before.
Since the phone is still giving response then your screen is probably no good and needs to be replaced.

Some precautions if you do intend on replacing the screen yourself:
- Be careful with the two touch sensor cables which are stuck onto the glass with adhesive. You will need to separate it from the class without damaging the ribbon cable or any part of the assembly of it. When I do Samsung screens that require you to lift up the screen first like the S5 I start from the top and work my way up to the bottom. The repair guide has you covered as there are useful comments for most steps that tell you what you need to look out for.
Same goes with the ribbon cable for the fingerprint scanner which is part of the home button. That can get ripped if you are not careful.
