16GB 1600mhz vs 16GB 1866mhz RAM for MacBook Pro 13" mid 2012

I ran Geek Bench to test on 2 types of RAM's on my  13" MacBook Pro 2.9 GHz i7 (mid 2012).

1 - Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3L-1600 SODIMM 

32bit test: 2913

  • Single-Core Score: 2913
  • Multi-Core Score: 6105

64 bit test:

  • Single-Core Score: 3132
  • Multi-Core Score: 6754

2 - Kingston HyperX Impact Black 8GB 1866MHz DDR3L Laptop RAM (Low Voltage - HX318LS11IB/8)

32bit test:

  • Single-Core Score: 2715
  • Multi-Core Score: 5814

64bit test:

  • Single-Core Score: 2986
  • Multi-Core Score: 6975

So I would like to know your opinion about RAM. Which is better for my MacBook Pro:

Just to be clear here your second set of tests with the Kingston HyperX Impact Black was also two 8 GB modules. Correct? (both tests was with 16 GB of RAM)

Single-Core Score: 2913 ---- 2715 - Diff of 198

Multi-Core Score: 6105 ---- 5814 - Diff of 291

*** Crucial is faster, but by very little

64bit test:

Single-Core Score: 3132 ---- 2986 - Diff of 146 to Crucial

Multi-Core Score: 6754 ---- 6975 - Diff of 221 to Kingston

*** Equal in performance as each bets the other.

First with any test like this you need to know what your OS and the apps are running at. In this case the newer versions of OS-X are full 64bit and the applications are generally 64bit as well (with rare exception).

In this case the performance difference between the manufactures is very little under 32bit but it makes little difference here as we're running 64bit. Under 64bit test the difference is even less! So I would focus on what costs less here.

The problem you're facing is the systems memory bus is running at 1600 MHz so the faster 1866 MHz memory is not offering any benefit here.
