How to access data off iPod touch(4th) when it is completely dead

I have an Ipod Touch 4th Generation that cannot turn on whatsoever and is not sensed by my computer at all....I have already tried holding power and home buttons for 10 seconds and it is still not sensed. I have tried grounding the battery with no luck, not even a spark. The screen shows no signs of life and its basically a block of metal at this point.

I have given up on trying to fix it because I have went through 3 screens thinking it was that and still have not been able to get it to show any signs of life.

All I need to know is if there is a way to access the memory without the device being turned on or if I can remove the memory and attach it to a different device to access it.

I have many old photos on the device and I have not backed it up to anything, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If there is a possible way of fixing it from its current condition, that would be even better, but I am just worried about the data on the device, not so much the device itself.
