Can I switch my sim card from my mega to another samsung phone? Or does it have to be a phone thru AT&T?

As long as the phone is network unlocked. It doesn't matter which sim card carrier you are using on it. It needs to be the same sim card size.
If the sim card is physically too large then you will need to get it cut to the correct size.
If it is too small then you will need to use a sim card adapter to make it fit.
