iPhone 5 gas gauge repair try without micro soldering

After reading iPhone 5 randomly crashes & reboot, battery fine. I've found out that my iPhone will almost for sure have the same Problem.

My attempt was to try it without soldering. It's probably easier to replace the whole circut board, rather than soldering the fl11, or am I wrong there?

Not the eco friendliest way, but it's still better than throwing the whole thing away.

After some research around my area, I've found few iPhone's which are also broken and really cheap.

My main question now is, can it also be an iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c?

Should I also replace the battery or will replacing the circut board do just fine?

Hey Max,

iPhone 5, 5s and 5c logic boards are all different (If that's what you meant by your question).

Also.. Boards are locked to a certain carrier, so if you find a good board/same carrier, it should work fine. The battery should be ok as long as the connector is not botched or you tear it during removal. it's kind of a hit and miss situation because you have no clue what issues are present in the broken phones.

Now if it where me, I would send it to Jessa at iPad Rehab to get the battery connector fixed.

Yes I meant that.

Finding an iPhone with the same carrier in Germany shouldn't be that hard, but it'll probably be harder to find an broken iPhone 5 with the same carrier.

I'll see what I can do and will post the result when it either worked or was an miss.
