What happens if you dont put lcd connector shield on

so i just replaced my iphone 5s camera. my led doesnt work unless i have the lcd connector shield with the 4 screws what happens if i leave the shield off. i have already looked at the screw diagram with putting the correct screws where they are supposed to be so is it ok if i leave it off?

Better to have it on. Without it the front display cables can easily come loose when the phone is dropped or by itself. It's used to keep the ribbon connectors plugged in firmly and not come out.
