Why is the screen black and nothing shows up?

I went to go use my camera today and the screen on the back won't come on. The camera itself is on and it is not connected to any external device. It was working fine yesterday.

The best way to fix this is to go into your camera's settings under the menu button and turn on the display. Usually the camera turns off the rear display when connected to a computer so it may not have reverted back to its original settings. See the troubleshooting page for more detail.
