Printer will not draw paper - loud repetitive knocking sound occurs.

When I first switch on the printer the warm-up proceeds to the green light.

As soon as I send a print from my PC, I hear a loud, repetitive knocking sound like something slipping. The red warning light comes on and my printer won't continue with printing.
