Display assembly replacement drama!

I bought the retinal display for my new MacBook Pro after a very stupid move on my part that cracked the display. I've replaced many parts on my old 2010 MBP, so feeling confident (overconfident) I heated the glass to remove the display... Long story short it came out... along with much of the backlight apparatus as I wasn't sure where the display ended... *slaps forehead* Now I need to sell back the unopened retinal display I bought to replace the one I cracked. The plan is to just buy the entire assembly including the aluminum clamshell. How hard is it to find someone who'll buy my retinal screen and sell me an entire assembly... Any advice?

Please give us a link to exactly what you bought and are trying to sell. The problem will be finding a 2015 displays in good condition. But I might be able to get a new one. Where are you located?

Apple MACBOOK PRO 13 RETINA A1502 13.3" LCD LED Screen Display Panel WQXGA

Can I buy the clamshell with the backlighting apparatus without the LCD panel inside there?

https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/ig... This is a link to the picture I just took of the screen. It's got that protective cover on both sides. I can't imagine there would be a way to recover these things from a 13.3 inch mac. Getting my broken one out was a nightmare.

The only one I know of that has done a repair of a retina screen is Louis Rossman, he made a video on it and one of my techs looked at it but doesn't want to do it, plus finding the parts is going to be a nightmare. You could try to sell the shell on eBay. Here was my question on it on the Meta site (almost no response) the Rossman link is there: https://meta.ifixit.com/Answers/View/776...

Thanks for the time @mayer! I'm trying to trade back the screen to the seller in exchange for the whole assembly. Wish me luck. Goodness... that screen was never meant ever to be removed from that clamshell top. I think I'd have needed 5 DaVinci Laparoscopic Robots with lasers and suction cups to make a dent! Thanks again for the help!

Sorry I couldn't have given you a better answer. It seems to me that corporations are putting a repair option a thing o the past. Each new machine has become less and less repairable.
