ipad air 1st gen won't power on, thought it was the charging port but it reads 5V on the multimeter when plugged in. Speaker makes a humming/buzzing noise when on the charger. unscrewed the battery and lifted the board off and put it back. going to try unplugging all components one by one. plugged into PC also no response. anyone else have any quick tips or guesses?

The ipad airs can be very tricky. Upon taking off the digitizer, the motherboard can easily get messed up. by touching metal in the wrong places or unplugging the cables the incorrect way, doing that will mess up the golden pins on the motherboard. look closely at your motherboard plug in and check to see if any golden pins are missing. If there is even just one missing, that's your problem

Oh okay well in that case I still would check the pins. If they seem to be fine then the only other thing I can think of is maybe your battery got shorted out. Changing the battery is also very tricky and can also be a little dangerous, I wouldn't suggest attempting it. But it could possibly fix it.
i tested the battery with a multimeter, its got power, need someone to diagnose the motherboard i think
okay, yeah that would be your only other option. I understand it wasn't working before you disassembled it but is it possible that someone else might have taken it apart or also is it possible that it got water damage?
