pressin power button cannot turn off the screen but can power off

I have been using Lumia 520 since one and a half years.

I can't turn on the screen pressing the power button then I tried the alternative "tap to wake".

It's not even working too.I am turning on the screen by plugging the power source.

I even done with inserting a rigid table stripe between the button and the screen.

Hi,

Have you tried a soft reset to see if this fixes your problem?

Here is a link that shows how to do it. (assuming you have Win Phone 8 installed). Scroll down to soft reset.
