Even though I am taking pictures in a well-lit area, I still can't get the camera to focus on the subject. I made sure that the autofocus was set to on and tried taking the pictures from various distances.

The problem is likely an issue with the lens. The lens may be damaged or dirty. In order to clean the lens, you will need a lens cleaning solution and a lens tissue. Simply apply a few drops of the solution to the cloth and then gently rub the lens with it. This should remove any dirt, fingerprints, or grime. If that doesn’t help, you can try rebooting the camera by turning it off, removing the battery for about 6 seconds, and then reinserting the battery and turning it back on. If you are still having difficulty, and if the lens has visible damage, you will need to replace it. For more information, take a look at the troubleshooting page for the camera.

It won't focus. The focus indicater stays in middle or moves to left only.
