iMac 2015 screen upgrade
I got an iMac 21.5 inch late 2015 non retina model and was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the screen to Retina display or are the plugs and ports different?

Nope.
Even if the board connectors match (go over the tear-downs that iFixit has for both models), video/graphic controllers on the board would be completely different for Retina vs. non-Retina.
AND since the screen and glass are fused, the screen assemblies are very expensive.
One way to go about it is to sell your iMac and purchase a Retina iMac. Less hassle and guessing and no risk of breaking anything "in case it was feasible."
