Hi does anybody have advice how this laptop can be opened? This model doesnt have panels on bottom, nor an obvious way of removing battery.
I want to add another 8gb memory and/or replace hdd with a ssd.
Both jobs look straight forward but the way to open the laptop eludes me.

Just find it on Youtube ( find: How to upgrade Acer Aspire E15 RAM & hard drive to SSD...). There is quite a lot of them but basically - remove all screws on the bottom, pry open carefully top with keyboard (be careful not to remove completely because there are still cable attached under - and after that is process pretty much simple and straightforward - you can see your parts in front of you.

I have exact same laptop and I don't think its straight forward to add RAM - I think the motherboard has to be unscrewed as the ram bays are on the underside of the board .. Please let me know if you successfully did this, I'm not sure whether to tackle it or not after already buying the additional 8GB RAM module .... It seems to me that ACER are OFF my list for future buys, to make it this difficult to change RAM is taking the !#^& quite frankly!!!

I didn't as laptop new and did not want to risk damage.

do I have to calibrate a new battery on these when I fit it?….if so how do I do it?….thanks.

There is a pin=hole next to mousepad i think for that
