Clock Issue after Complete repair

Hey everyone. New to the Forum but i was wondering if anyone could help me. I have been working on a iPhone 5C that was dipped into a dogs water dish (battery side) and then also dropped a few days after. When it got water damaged i turned it off, opened it and the only water damage indicator that was red was the one down by the battery, i let it dry out and everything worked fine, fast forward to a few days when it was dropped. The front screen smashed completely but still worked sort of. Enough to determain if it was worth fixing or not. So i ordered a new screen, a new battery, even a completely bare housing (was blue but wanted white) so i switched everything over, went flawlessly the only thing that does not or will not work correctly is the time. Ive tried resetting network settings, restore, full update and restore and set as a new iPhone, toggled the automatic date and time on/off, no matter what i do as soon as i lock the phone and let it sit, the clock either stops or jumps back a few minutes. Im stumped, do any of you know what could be causing this? The only thing i can think of is maybe the battery? I dont think it is OEM does this make a difference? Thank you guys for any input you may have.

Alright, so last night I had done a bunch of testing to determine if it is the battery effecting my Date & Time. What I had done was let the iPhone sit on the charger for 2 & 1/2 hours (until fully charged). During that time the Date & Time worked perfectly, Not even 15 minutes after I took the iPhone off of the charger, the Time went back about 5 minutes and started messing up again. So long story short While plugged in it works, While on just Battery power alone it doesn't. I will be ordering an OEM battery and swapping out the cheap one.

When you get a phone wet just drying it out is usually not enough you need to clean the phone as the moisture causes corrosion and this is likely you issue You will need to take the phone apart and clean all the contacts and connectors with 99% isopropal alcohol look closely at the logic board and look for discoloration and corrosion clean thoroughly and any time your battery gets we get a new one.

thank you for your answer Jimfixer, I did forget to mention that I did clean the logic board with isopropyl before switching everything over since I had it out already, it looked clean but I cleaned the contacts and connectors. I do think it is the new battery that I had purchased since it was fairly cheap. The battery itself works fine otherwise but its the only thing I can think of that could affect the time and date.

sounds like you already have this figured out just looking for conformation

Pretty much yes, my main question was if a non OEM battery (or poorly made) in a iPhone could be causing this problem? if so I would just order a new one from ifixit so I would at least know it is good.

do you still have the old battery to try and see if the time screws up with it unless its completely toast

Unfortunately I don't have the old battery anymore. I threw it out after I finally got it to come out, the adhesive strips had broke when I was pulling on them so I had to pry it out and probably messed the battery up even more in the process so I ended up just buying a brand new one and not chancing it.
