I have no idea what to do I can hear the fan spinning and the caps lock light and power light stay on and won't go off..I have switched the hard drive to a new laptop and I now use that but I can't switch the memory card..how do i get the hp to reconnect and turn back on????

remove ram and then see if the screen turns on, if it does then it is the RAM,
Do the same with hdd, if it turns on then its the hdd,
also try to open the screen and check if the connector is loose
other wise it might be a mother board issue,
