LCD/Digitizer not working but same assembly will work in another phone

I'm a bit stumped on this... My wife's phone is completely working except for the LCD/Digitizer. I am able to make calls using her cars bluetooth system and phone is visible in iTunes. I'm and very proficient in electronics repair.

I thought it was just the LCD randomly messing up, but I tried using my iPhone 6's front assembly and it didn't work. So, I hooked up the seemingly broken LCD/Digitizer to my phone and it works fine. There is a faint glow coming from the LCD.

I'm left with, somehow my wife's iPhone connector or LCD filters is broken? I don't know where to begin to troubleshoot this. Is there any way for me to get the data off her phone? The home button works, but I have no way of entering the passcode...

Do you think Apple will fix this under warranty?

Thanks for any help!!

If the phone is still under warranty and doesn't show signs of abuse, Apple would be a good start.

There is a control chip on the mainboard of the phone that could have gone bad. I lean more towards the simple answer which would be an issue with the connector. Try cleaning the connector on the phone with 99% alcohol (please unplug the battery first) and clean the digi connector at the same time. Once you get the phone back together, hold power and volume together a few times and see if the digi starts working. If that doesn't get it going, I would take it to a reputable repair shop in your area.

I cleaned the connectors and got some white blocks on part of the screen for ~1min but then the same problem still. Probably going to see Apple about repair.
