USB ports not working, best way to fix/replace them?

The USB ports on my Playstation 4 are not working at all. What is the best way to fix this? Will replacing the USB female ports solve this problem?

Hi Nut S.! The USB ports on these can usually be fixed but it's not an easy fix. Sometimes the actual ports themselves are bad (this is not likely in your case since both of them are not working), sometimes the USB IC chip is faulty and sometimes there is some other random problem that is causing them not to work.

All of these options are a difficult repair...there is just no easy way to fix them. You might try a new USB cable just to be sure it's not the cable.

Hey, thanks for the reply. The only thing I can practically do is buy a replacement USB part and change it over myself, I guess. If that doesn't work then what do you suggest I do?

I'm not sure how much soldering experience you have but changing the USB ports is a difficult job...even for someone with soldering experience. I don't want to discourage you...just want you to know the realities of it.

If that doesn't work then I would chance the USB IC chip.
