MacBook doesn't boot, only black screen and repeats dvd drive noise

Since yesterday, my macbook doesn't boot any more. I haven't done anything with it, just opened it up and the problem was there.

When I press the power button, the screen stays black and it keeps repeating the dvd player noise when it boots (which, you normally only hear once). Then, I can only turn it off again by holding down the power button.

I tried holding down C, Shift and cmd+option+P+R to reset PRAM, but nothing helps.

Any suggestions?

If you're comfortable with opening it up I would suggest you try that and look for the cmos battery to manually reset the PRAM. Other than that I would start booting it in different disassembly states. Disconnecting, RAM, HDD, ODD, Battery and so on until it does something else than black screening.

If you need any further advice, feel free to ask me again

I opened it and took out the two sticks of RAM memory and put 'em back in again. Then it booted normally again so I closed it up. Then booted it again and it got stuck yet again.

I repeated getting the RAM out and in and it booted again.

It seems like what triggers the problem is that when the macbook is turned on and open and when I then close the lid and it goes to sleepmode, it can't turn on back on again. The screen then stays black and I have to hold down the power button. Then bootloop problem occurs.

Now, after I took out the RAM and put them back in again, it booted normally and I held down cmd+option+P+R to reset PRAM. So far, this seems to work. I can just boot normally and put it in and out of sleep mode again.

Could it be that resetting the PRAM fixes the sleepmode and then boot problem?

Okay, it definitely still has the problem. I left it in sleepmode for while, opened up the lid and the screen stayed black and I could only turn it off with the power button. Then, upon starting, the bootloop occurred again. It seems switching out the RAM sticks doesn't work everytime. Sometimes it gets the bootloop, and the other times it just boots normally. But when that happens, it doesn't take long for the bootloop to happen again after putting it in sleep mode.

What could be the problem here?
