Fixing intermittent ORIENTATION SENSOR failures

Ummm....title says it all... but in case u like to read....

Phone fell into water... had otter box case... but did not keep water out lol...

Immediately removed case (first time for everything) as fast as I could... easier to replace a busted back cover than the guts...

Disconnected battery as it wasn't coming on enough to power off properly, and holding down power button restarts...(also removed sd&sim, and disconnected the data cable)

Threw in bag of rice... 12-24 hrs... came on once reconnected ... and lost one insert (4 corporate stores later found a nice SALES associate to give me one out of the thousands they have in the back destined to return the manufacturer)... aside from some lite soap smears on the inside of the screen (slightly darkening) those areas everything seemed to be.in good working order... the water marks eventually (3 days) vaped off and screen was like new again... data cable took a little bit of effort... once it is popped off I had a lot of trouble getting it to stay all the way ... until I used the pressure of the housing plate (the one directly after the back cover) that straddles that particular square to hold a very thin piece of a plastic water bottle cap, effectively forcing the data cable to stay put.

It wasn't until several days later, when I tried to play NFS most wanted with landscape steering by orientation that I noticed the steering was all right all the time... as opposed to all left...

After about 10 different calibration apps one did the trick... but a few days later ... same issue... now I am looking for a permanent solution... for some reason... the orientation sensor (according to a few apps) isn't even connected...

If I had someone point it out, I would buy a new one ... or replace from thousands of phones in pieces... either way... just need a walkthrough... and would totally be willing to record, narrate, or both...

Thanks for your consideration and speedy response
