Why is my MacBook shutting down randomly without warning?
My MBP shuts down without warning after about 15-45 min. When I boot it up again, however, it remembers the programs I had on and it reopens them. I have tried to reset nvram and smc. I also took it to the apple store and they couldn't find what was wrong with it. They suspected one of my applications was causing a kernel panic so I uninstalled it but it still is shutting down just as frequently. The battery still keeps its charge and it shuts down whether it is plugged into the power or not. I have noticed however that it shuts down more frequently while watching videos, most frequently with hulu though.
A friend of mine said to try to make a new profile to see if it shuts down randomly on that profile. I tried it and it shut down less frequently (about 30 min to 2 hours). It still doesn't solve it though and I'm not sure what to do.
Thanks for your help!

Are you getting any crash reports?

I have a similar issue. However it appears to be one of several symptoms that all seem to point to, of all things, the keyboard. I am not eager to replace the entire upper case assembly because it looks like a very involved procedure ...

... but that may have to be my next step. In the meantime I use various external keyboards including a bluetooth keyboard made by Anker that is fairly cheap and replaceable. It doesn't solve the problem but it gets me through the day.

@Martin - What happens when you disconnect the keyboard ribbon cable. You'll need to use the power pads to start your system up and you'll need to use an external keyboard & mouse/trackpad. Is it stable then?
