How to separate the glass and LCD on the Apple Watch screen?

I have just shattered the screen of my Apple Watch sport screen, I have read the guide on this site on how to replace the screen and have found a replacement 'Touch Screen Digitiser Glass'.

I am wondering though how easy it is to separate the LCD from the actual glass if that makes sense as I have found now guide for this online?

Thanks

Gary

Its possible but its going to require some good technician skills, hot plate or heat gun and a thin wire called Molybdenum Wire. Its not going to be an easy job for a novice and you could take a chance of damaging the force flex sensor, another part not available for purchase right now. I would say having apple replace the device is the best solution till more parts become available or wait.

Got a link to how it's actually done?

I don't. I have some tech friends that have attempted it. Glass separation they've accomplished but everyone of them has damaged the force flex sensor. So I won't touch this device till the parts are available.

Anyone have info on applying new adhesive between the glass and the LCD ?

It’s easy. I use my warming burner on my stove set at 2. Trim the glass around the lcd to remove the curved portions still in tact. You can snip with nail clippers and I put 2 strips of kapton tape on my burner to regulate the heat . Start my wire and tape the screen down to the kapton tape as I work the wire through like its butter. No damage to polarizer

I've done the same and the LCD screen seems like its glued to the digitizer, I've ordered a digitizer on amazon for like $15 but so far their isn't any apple watch LCD screens available yet, I'm so upset like everyone who didn't including me i should've bought the apple care on the spot buying the apple watch.

Hi, if you are brave I have found a method which works for me, which is to use the flexible plastic strip from a broken HP all-in-one printer and is confirmed to work on the S4 mini and others.

These can be had for about £5 from charity shops and typically you can separate 5 screens before the strip wears out, not broken one yet with this method!

If you get this working I am trying to raise funding for my EmDrive prototype, send donations to mandoline at809at cwgsy dot123dot net

Use standard decryption of removing numbers and substituting single symbols for double at and double dot.

Also, this force sensor. What exactly does it look like because I've run into similar issues on my phone where the front camera assembly is hooked up somehow to the proximity.

Does it maybe use ultrasound, so the exact glue has to be used similar to medical imaging? In which case you might be better off utilizing car rear mirror bonder not LOCA, or even something as simple as clear wax.

Would be less destructive and easy to replace if it breaks again in the future, if it helps.

I have a degree in Medical Electronics and this particular issue came up in the Imaging course, incidentally this is why "medical grade" lube costs 17* as much as regular as it has very predictable sound transfer properties that can be nulled out by the software.
