Why did my colors go all psychedelic?

My iPad 2 16 gb colors went all psychedelic for no reason. A tech at the store told me it was a common loose wire and gently pressed a corner of the screen. He said he was afraid of breaking it and told me any kid could fix it by taking off the back cover and reconnecting the wire. He told me sell it on eBay for 250.00 and buy a new one. I BABY'D this one -not a scratch on it- and I live on 733.00 p/month. This was a gift and I'm disabled and can't afford another. I don't even have a computer , just this smartphone ( which I'm grateful for but my eyes are bad). Can anyone help?

Sincerely , Laura

laura, not sure where the tech got that idea "any kid could fix it by taking off the back cover" from. To take the back off requires to remove the front display etc. Not an easy task at all. Granted not impossible, but it sure does take some practice. The tech might be right about the cable, but it could also be a broken LCD. Since we cannot see it, makes it kinda tough to diagnose. You might want to consider adding images of your screen with your question. Here is the guide for that. Also, there are a few different iPad 2 models, so you should give us your exact model or at list the AXXXX number from the back cover.
