What is easiest way to replace a bad usb dock charger

My charger cable will not mount securely and will not charge. cable connection seems to be loose. Can the dock itself replaced or teh whole ribbon assembly. What steps I can skip to doing that job

If the USB port is damaged and connected via a ribbon cable it is far easier just replacing the whole cable. Otherwise it would involve desoldering the broken one and soldering a new one on and this isn't an easier job unless you have the right equipment.

The guide below in Step 11 describes the part you would need to replace.
