Why my nikon L310 lens in and out unable to take photo?

Why my nikon coolpix L310 zoom lens in and out servial times and display show me that `Turn the camera off . Remove the lens cap and turn the camera on ´ although lens cap have been remove . Your answer will be very valuable to me.
