witch chip should I change, if my iPhone 5s died, while charging?

Hi,

Before answearing my title question I would like to inform you that 1month ago my phone was water damaged (half of it was submerged into water -from top of a screen). When I opened, I saw corrosion on lcd and digitizer socket. I fixed it quite easily. From then it worked fine. Sometimes on rare ocassions my iphone crashed, restarted itself- it looked to me as usual procedure, because it used to crash before water damage. BUT that's not all.. Recently I got a gift: a mobile charging station - a big capacity rechargeable battery with 3rd party lightning cable. I tried couple of times to charge my phone using this gift. But whenever i was trying to charge, an iphone display sometimes ( 1 out of 3 times) showed me a message, that it wont support or accept this cable. And a night before my phone DIED, i used my original cable combined with my sister's LG charger. I remember that my battery was halfway charged. But when I woke phone was dead. NOTHING revived it. I tried rebooting, dfu mode, itunes, charging again, changed battery to new one. So eventually I ended up by investigating logic board. So far ( thanks to your website) I tend to think that it might that one of the chip is broken/bad. BUT WITCH ONE? I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW FUNCTIONS OF CHIPS, WITCH ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR POWER SUPPLY. AND WHAT MIGHT BE THE SYMPTOMS IF THIS CHIP IS NOT WORKING?

Laimis aka Happy , you should tell us how you " fixed it quite easily" after the water damage. Did you replace the battery as well? iPhone are quite funny when it comes to that "combined with my sister's LG charger". Before you look for anything as complicated as a PM IC, I suggest that you start with a new battery and a new lightning connector after you ensure that you cleaned your phone properly from the water damage. Use these guides to work on your phone.

Well I just brushed the sockets (lcd, digitizer etc) that had corrosion on it with a toothbrush and hexane . I did not replaced the battery. At the repair shop, they changed to a new one, but my phone was not able to turn on. My old battery has voltage ~3.5V right now. I can assure you, that it is not the battery or lightning connector.

If it does not even start up with a new battery, I am still not convinced that it is U2 that has failed. But of course it is possible, so if you feel it needs to be changed, you will need to find someone that can do a reball since it is a BGA chip

Or maybe it is apple pm ic chip? can i make a test, simply by connecting DC power suppply, and then judging by the out coming information of electron flow consuption (amperes), when the voltage is constant 3,8 V. I tired today, but think I failed, because I am not sure if I turned it on correctly. Whenever I make a electric circuit with logic board and DC power supply, the initial voltage (3.7V) drops to 1.3 V.

P.S I checked my battery voltage with mulitmeter. It is ~4.2V . Is that normal?? And about reballing. I am thinking about buying a new chip from ebay. But before that I need to certain witch chip is bad.
